I have recently purchased the “Little Book of Facts” from the Museum of Communist Terror in London – a great organisation full of resources about the totalitarian terror unleashed by and in the name of international socialism. In the small book, which is full of informative details about communism, the Museum has included a list of countries in which communism was established. I have taken the liberty to make a PDF with it so you can download it below.
However, one thing you should note is that in none of the countries below (and the list does not include a range of African and South American countries that have been influenced by communism for various time periods) the communist regime did not come to power via peaceful or democratic means. As the “Little Book of Facts” states: ” In none of the 23 countries […] was the take-over of power achieved by a free, democratic vote. A free press, if it existed before, was shut down in all these countries after a Communist take-over”.
Despite these facts, many young people in the West maintain a romantic view about communism and, indeed, socialism in general. I produced a detailed report on “Why many young Westerners hate Hitler but are unsure about Stalin?” which you can read here. I am working on more resources on the actions committed by the communists, especially in Romania (my home country), and I shall share with you in due course.
